SIM’s new ShowRoom by Hamamatsu, EIZO, and Smart In Media

In a groundbreaking move to introduce Digital Pathology, the team led by Dr. Erk Klopp, Group Leader at Hamamatsu Deutschland GmbH, in collaboration with Smart In Media, has seamlessly integrated the NanoZoomer S20MD into a comprehensive digital workflow and unveiled the pioneering "Digital Pathology" experience point in Cologne.

Hamamatsu Photonics Europe, in collaboration with EIZO Healthcare and Smart In Media, proudly introduces the SIM ShowRoom – an innovative space where the complete digital pathology workflow comes to life. It promises to be a fun and informative space for everyone interested in the digitalization of pathology, oncology, and microbiology.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own slides, which can be digitized using the Hamamatsu NanoZoomer S20MD Digital Slide Scanner. These digitized slides can then be imported into the cutting-edge PathoZoom® Digital Lab diagnostic platform from Smart In Media. The Demo Lab offers an immersive experience, allowing visitors to conduct digital diagnostics with their specimens, including testing AI modules, achieving seamless integration into a LIS, and sharing cases live with colleagues worldwide during their visit.

Located in the heart of Cologne, less than a 5-minute walk from the University Clinic, the SIM ShowRoom invites you to experience Hamamatsu’s NanoZoomer scanners, Eizo’s RadioForce monitors, and Smart In Media’s (SIM) PathoZoom DigitalLab. Customers can bring their own glass slides and scan them using the available whole slide scanners, without ever needing to change their own environment. This will provide them with the flexibility to test out what works best for them. They will also be able to connect with Hamamatsu and SIM experts and benefit from complementary catering as well as a conference room for intensified discussions.

Beyond exploring digital diagnostic capabilities, the showroom serves as an educational hub for professionals looking to enhance their expertise. Therefore, the showroom provides an opportunity to gain more knowledge about selecting the right monitors: Certified EIZO monitors are available for this purpose, along with a monitor guide tailored for the digital pathology workflow.

For a comprehensive introduction to "Digital Pathology," guests can book an in-depth presentation alongside their showroom visit. This enriching session offers insights into the various stages of the digital pathology workflow, practical implementation tips, and a strategic roadmap for the successful integration of Digital Pathology into their respective institutes.

The ShowRoom in Cologne was inaugurated by two European managers of Hamamatsu, Emmanuel Pirson, Digital Pathology Business Development Manager Europe, Dr. Jay Abdin, Sales Manager EMEA, and Dr. Erk Klopp, Group Leader Business Development & Manager Digital Pathology Solutions at Hamamatsu Deutschland, along with Smart In Media partners: CEO Dr. Detlef K.-H.
